Marin Science Seminar Presentation: “Computers, Robots, and Medical Education, Oh My!!!!” How do physicians learn to diagnose and treat common life threatening medical conditions? Increasingly, simulation and robots are being used. Drs. Hirsch and Wallace will discuss and demonstrate some of these advances in medicine. Dr. Hirsch is Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at UCSF and a staff anesthesiologist at the VA Medical Center SF (VAMCSF) and San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH). As Director of the Anesthesia Simulation Program at VAMCSF Dr. Hirsch organizes weekly simulation sessions for anesthesiology residents. At the SFGH Simulation Center, he participates in the simulator lectures for first year medical students, residents and anesthesia providers for MOCA recertification. He completed his MD and PhD at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, Germany and his anesthesia residency at UCSF.
